Terms and conditions
Last updated: 6 October 2026
Welcome to SteerSafe. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SteerSafe customer app, the SteerSafe website and related services (together, the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Cancellation Policy, which form part of this agreement. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. About SteerSafe
SteerSafe is a designated-driver service. A vetted, independent Driver comes to you and drives you home in your own car. SteerSafe provides the technology that connects customers with Drivers, calculates prices and supports each Trip.
SteerSafe is not a taxi company, a ride-hailing company or a vehicle rental company. SteerSafe does not provide vehicles to customers: every Trip is made in the customer's own registered vehicle.
2. Definitions
- "Customer" means a person who uses the Platform to request a Trip.
- "Driver" means an approved driver who drives the Customer's Vehicle during a Trip.
- "Transport-Driver" means an approved driver who uses their own car to bring Drivers to Customers and between jobs. Customers do not ride with Transport-Drivers and do not deal with them.
- "Vehicle" means a car that a Customer has registered on the Platform and that SteerSafe has approved.
- "Trip" means the journey from the pickup location to the destination, driven by a Driver in the Customer's Vehicle.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
To use the Platform you must:
- Be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement.
- Provide accurate and complete registration information, including your name, country, phone number and email address, and keep it up to date.
- Verify your phone number when asked.
You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account. Do not share your account, create false accounts or use another person's identity. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use. You can see and manage your account in the app.
4. Your Vehicle
4.1 Registration. You must register a Vehicle in the app before you can request a Trip. For each Vehicle you provide the make, model, year, colour, plate number and transmission type (automatic or manual), four photographs (front, rear, left and right), and your vehicle registration and insurance documents with their expiry dates. You may register more than one Vehicle, but the same plate number can be used only once on your own account.
4.2 Review and approval. SteerSafe reviews every Vehicle before it can be used. We may approve, reject or suspend a Vehicle, and we give a reason when we reject or suspend one. You can correct the details and submit again, and a suspended Vehicle can be reactivated by SteerSafe.
4.3 Changes. If you change a photograph, a document, an expiry date or the plate number of an approved Vehicle, it returns to review and cannot be used until it is approved again.
4.4 Valid papers. A Vehicle can be used for a Trip only while it is approved and its registration and insurance have not expired. We remind you in the app when a Vehicle's papers are about to expire.
4.5 Your confirmations. You confirm that you own each Vehicle or have the owner's permission to let a Driver drive it, and that it is legally registered, insured, roadworthy and safe to operate.
4.6 What the Driver sees. So that the Driver can find your Vehicle, we show the Driver its make, model, year, colour, plate number, transmission and front photograph. Your registration and insurance documents are not shown to Drivers.
4.7 Manual transmission. A Driver may decline a Trip in a manual-transmission Vehicle. Please enter the transmission type correctly.
4.8 Removing a Vehicle. You may remove a Vehicle at any time, unless a pending request, an upcoming scheduled ride or an active Trip is using it.
5. Requesting a Trip
You may request a Trip now, or schedule one for later, by choosing a pickup location, a destination and one of your approved Vehicles. If you do not have a Vehicle that can be used, the app explains why (for example, that it is waiting for review, was rejected or has expired papers). A Trip is confirmed only when a Driver accepts it. If no Driver accepts, your request expires and you are not charged.
We do not guarantee that a Driver will be available at any time or place. Availability depends on location, demand, Driver supply, weather, traffic and operating hours. Estimated arrival times are estimates and may change.
Pickup and destination locations must be inside an area where SteerSafe operates.
6. How a Trip Works
6.1 Getting the Driver to you. The Driver reaches your pickup location on foot or is brought there by a Transport-Driver. You can follow the Driver's position in the app. You are not asked to store any equipment in your Vehicle.
6.2 Pickup and PIN. When the Driver arrives, the app shows you a four-digit PIN. Give the PIN to the Driver only when they are with your Vehicle; the Driver must enter it to start the Trip. After several wrong entries the PIN is locked for a short time.
6.3 Vehicle check. Before starting, the Driver may check the Vehicle. The Driver may refuse or stop a Trip if the Vehicle appears unsafe, is unlawful to drive, has no valid registration or insurance, or does not match the Vehicle registered for the Trip. Examples include damaged tyres, faulty lights or brakes, or steering or engine problems.
6.4 During the Trip. The Driver drives the Vehicle from pickup to destination and follows applicable traffic laws and SteerSafe's safety standards. Please do not interfere with the Driver while the Vehicle is being driven. You can follow the Trip live in the app.
6.5 Trip records. SteerSafe records each Trip, including its route, times and distance, so that we can calculate the fare and review any complaint, incident or claim.
6.6 Ending a Trip early. You may end a Trip that is in progress. You then pay for the part of the Trip that was completed, as described in the Cancellation Policy.
6.7 Completion. When the Trip ends, the app shows the final fare, distance and duration. You and the Driver may rate each other.
7. Prices and Payment
7.1 One price. Before you confirm a request, the app shows a single price for the Trip. It covers the Driver's service and the cost of getting the Driver to you, and may include the cost of the Driver's way back after the Trip, together with any applicable taxes. A base fare and a minimum fare may apply.
7.2 Final fare. The final fare is calculated by the Platform from the actual distance and time of the Trip using the rates that applied to your Trip. It may differ from the estimate if the route, waiting time or destination changes.
7.3 Other charges. Cancellation fees and no-show fees may apply as described in the Cancellation Policy.
7.4 Payment. At present, Trips are paid in cash to the Driver at the end of the Trip, in the local currency shown in the app (Jordanian dinar in Jordan). If other payment methods are introduced, they will be shown in the app and may be subject to additional terms. You agree to pay all amounts due for your Trips.
7.5 Disputes. If you believe you were charged incorrectly, contact us as soon as possible and we will review the Trip records.
8. Promotional Codes
SteerSafe may offer promotional codes, discounts or credits. They may be limited by expiry date, number of uses, specific accounts, service areas, minimum fare or campaign rules. They have no cash value and cannot be sold or transferred. We may withdraw or cancel a code, and reverse its benefit, if we suspect misuse, fraud or error.
9. Cancellations, Waiting Time and No-Shows
You may cancel a Trip through the app. Depending on the timing, a cancellation or no-show fee may apply. The details, including how long you can cancel for free, are in our Cancellation Policy. The app also tells you when a fee would apply before you cancel.
10. Your Responsibilities
You agree that you will:
- Provide accurate pickup and destination details and be ready at the pickup point.
- Treat Drivers with respect, and not harass, threaten, abuse or endanger them.
- Not ask a Driver to break traffic laws, take unsafe routes or make illegal stops.
- Remove or look after your personal belongings, for which you remain responsible.
- Not carry illegal substances or prohibited items in the Vehicle.
- Not damage the Driver's property.
- Keep your Vehicle's details and documents accurate and up to date.
11. Safety and Reporting
Safety is central to SteerSafe. We may suspend or remove any user who endangers others or breaks these Terms.
SteerSafe helps customers get home safely, including when they should not drive. Customers must nevertheless behave safely and respectfully. A Driver may refuse or end a Trip if the customer is aggressive or threatening, is unable to communicate basic Trip details, or creates a safety risk. SteerSafe does not encourage excessive drinking or any unlawful behaviour.
You can report a problem about a Trip with "Report an issue" in the app, or through our support channels. SteerSafe reviews reports and may take action against any user. In an emergency, contact the emergency services first, then SteerSafe.
12. Insurance
You are responsible for making sure that each Vehicle has valid insurance that allows another authorised driver to drive it. SteerSafe does not guarantee that your insurance will cover every incident involving a Driver, so please check your policy before using the service. Any insurance or operational cover that SteerSafe maintains does not replace your own insurance.
13. Accidents, Damage and Claims
If an accident or damage occurs, follow the legal procedure, including contacting the police or emergency services where required, and notify SteerSafe as soon as possible through the app or our support channels.
Claims are reviewed using Trip records, photographs, location data, reports from the Driver and the Customer, and applicable law. Unless the law provides otherwise, SteerSafe is not responsible for pre-existing damage, mechanical failure, insurance refusals, defects of the Vehicle, damage resulting from inaccurate information, or the loss of personal items.
14. Ratings and Communications
After each Trip you and the Driver may rate each other. Ratings and reviews must be honest and respectful. We send you service messages about your account, Vehicles and Trips (including in-app notifications), and may send promotional messages where the law allows. You can opt out of promotional messages at any time.
15. Privacy and Location Data
We collect and use personal information, including location data, as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Platform you agree that your location may be collected and used to match you with Drivers, show arrival status, track Trips, calculate fares and support safety and dispute reviews.
16. Platform Availability
We work to keep the Platform reliable, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. Service may be affected by maintenance, internet or GPS problems, third-party failures or events beyond our control. We are not responsible for losses caused by temporary interruptions to the extent the law allows.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SteerSafe is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including loss of income, business or data. Where SteerSafe is found liable, its liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Trip to which the claim relates. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
18. Independent Drivers
Drivers and Transport-Drivers use the Platform as independent service providers unless local law or an agreement states otherwise. They are responsible for holding a valid licence, following road laws and meeting SteerSafe's requirements. SteerSafe checks Drivers and Transport-Drivers (including their licence, identity documents and criminal record certificate) before approving them, but does not employ them.
19. Prohibited Use
You may not use the Platform to commit or assist any unlawful act, provide false vehicle or identity information, abuse promotions or refunds, interfere with the security of the Platform, attempt to copy or reverse engineer it, or harm other users or SteerSafe's reputation.
20. Suspension, Termination and Account Deletion
We may suspend, restrict or close your account if you breach these Terms, create a safety risk, provide false information, fail to pay amounts due or use the Platform fraudulently. You may stop using SteerSafe at any time and may delete your account from the app by confirming your password. You cannot delete your account while you have an active Trip or an open ride request. What is deleted and what we keep is explained in the Privacy Policy.
21. Service Areas
SteerSafe operates only in selected cities and areas. Availability, prices, Driver coverage, promotions and operating hours may differ by location, and we may add, change or remove service areas at any time.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be published in the app or on our website with a new "Last updated" date. If you keep using the Platform after the update, you accept the new Terms.
23. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The competent courts of Jordan have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, unless mandatory law provides otherwise. We encourage you to contact us first so that we can try to resolve any issue.
